A celebration of the Cotswolds, carved into lino.
This hand-carved linocut map winds its way through some of the Cotswolds’ best-loved towns and villages, with their buildings, landmarks and surrounding countryside all squeezed into the shape of the Cotswolds itself.
There’s lots to discover amongst the tiny details – churches and towers, rolling hills, rivers, trees, sheep, birds and familiar landmarks, with plenty of little things hidden away to spot if you look closely.
The original lino block took me over a week to carve, working away at it for a few hours at a time and gradually revealing all those ridiculously tiny details.
Each print is then individually hand printed by me using an etching press, eco-friendly ink and beautiful Fabriano paper.
As with all traditional linocut prints, no two are completely identical. You’ll find slight variations in the ink, texture and impression from one print to another – all part of what makes each one an original, handmade print.
